About the Artist

I grew up in small town Saskatchewan and would not choose any other way of life. I truly appreciate this Province's simplicity and beauty. Whether I am camping with family, fishing with my husband, or tending to my flower garden, I feel complete when nature recharges my battery. Nature can be a great diversion from our everyday stresses.
I stated painting on canvas in 2003 and bagan painting full time in 2009. As an artist I have not received any formal training but I cannot claim to be self-taught. Many artists, friends and family members have encouraged, influenced and inspired me. My husband Ken is my greatest supporter. I am very blessed to be the wife of a man who is always willing to help and works long hours so that I can stay home and live my dream. I immerse myself in books and magazines to learn what I can from other artists. Workshops are an especially fun and inspiring way of learning. I have taken over 200 hours of workshops from a variety of artists since I started painting. The more I study the more I realize as an artist I will never be done learning and will continually strive to lay down the perfect strokes to capture the magic of light and nature on my canvas. I love to paint on location when the summer months permit but find that Saskatchewan weather is not always conducive to outdoor painting so I also paint from photos and memory.
I feel a deep spiritual connection between my environment and my creativity and am driven to capture the connection between nature, light and spirit with my brush. I am passionate about showing off this magnificent country and am especially interested in capturing the magical lure of places that are untouched by humans.
I love to share my gift with people who appreciate my vision so come along with me on my journey. I hope I can bring a bit of peace and tranquility to your day. Our home is also my studio and gallery and is open to the public so I can share my passion. The gallery is open whenever we are home or phone ahead (306 745-2746) to arrange a time to come by. The gallery is located on 616 St. Mary's St. in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan.
